About Stay Focused Recordings

Stay Focused Recordings started as an idea spawned by an Umar Bin Hassan performance at the Legendary Snaps-N-Taps in Columbus, Ohio. In the audience was Carl Zero, owner of Roots Records, MacRock, a local area photographer and Rick Steinberg, audio engineer and media darling.

Both were floored by Umar's performance and along with Kwojo (aka the Chicago Connection), they eventually got Umar to focus on the first SFR release "Life Is Good", which although poorly distributed, dropped a sonic boom with those in the know. Life is Good is now in its second release, and is available from Stay Focused Recordings.

In the spirit of that night, Stay Focused Recordings continues to promote Umar Bin Hassan and all the Legendary Masters who bring consciousness to the game.
